We were entered in the Mansion in May decorating challenge this past year with an idea based on outdoor living . It called for an exterior setting, with pergola and stone flooring with outdoor drapery. The whole setting required specials plantings to create a space to reflect and recharge. We called it Tranquility.

Sitting quietly off in the distance tucked into a lush knoll, blanketed with emerald green ferns and delicate white flowers, is a Contemporary Arbor for just such a contemplative task. The seamless wood architecture breaking through the lush landscape draws the eye to the quiet retreat. The weathered wood structure, has stood strong through many storms and creates a balance with the ever so delicate white birch trees planted near the arbor into a naturalized landscape. A geometric bluestone path draws you into this quiet retreat in the woods, blending a modern aesthetic with old world charm. Outdoor Wicker with custom pillows, acts as a quiet resting place to contemplate the beauty and complexities of your life.

Balancing the tranquility of the white hydrangea, with christmas ferns, ornamental grasses and young white birch trees, this composed arbor creates a landscape that feels as simple as a gentle breeze on a Summer’s day.
