The first questions to ask yourself…
How do you want to feel when you’re actually in your landscape?
What is the relationship of your landscaping to your home?
Are you looking to feel safe and enclosed, or free to meander?
Do you want to feel calm and reflective, or pleasantly stimulated?
Is the landscaping minimalistic or something more eccentric?
As peoples lives grow and change so does the landscape grow and change.
Landscaping is so much more than good design and pretty plants.

The Boathouse is a combination of design and restoration. Renewing the original structure to its’ past authentic splendor. Adding cedar siding and stonework updated the boathouse in look and style to match the main house. Splitting the top and bottom allowed the colors to be more proportional to the building structure. The stonework highlights the connection to the land. The water’s reflection draws the eye to the subtle details of the building. Classic and rich, the original structure lacked details and originality. The updated design changes borrowed elements from the main house. The stonework foundation and first floors, and the cedar slopped siding. The Boathouse is a complex project requiring the collaboration of Joe Fernandez of JMF Build and designer Abby Jochnowitz of DesignAnts to revive the building to a new found beauty.

A professional photographer and honeybee enthusiast, wanted to take his love of beekeeping which he shares with his partner and turn it into a small business. The beekeeper had scheduled a Fall Festival harvesting event to gather the honey with the support of his friends and a large number of invited guests. It was at this event that he would launch his new brand identity and share it with those in attendance as they help to harvest the honey. We designed the logo to reflect the shared love of both partners for beekeeping. With a changing field of flowers to segment the different flavors of honey. For the scheduled event we created labels for the honey jars and specially hand screened t-shirts to be given out to those attendees.
